Adopt a Shelter Pet Commemorative Postage Stamps
Stamps to the Rescue!
Pattie Amon, Citrus County Animal Service's Operations Manager, helped to celebrate the first day of sale of the US Postal Service's Adopt a Shelter Pet commemorative postage stamps, with their "Stamps to the Rescue" promotional campaign.
The goal of the campaign is to increase public awareness about sheltered pets and to encourage pet adoption and promote humane and responsbile pet care.
During the launch of the stamps Halo, Purely for Pets (an holistic pet care company owned by Ellen DeGeneres) will be donating a million meals to animal shelters around the country. For further information about the program visit www.stampstotherescue.com.
Pattie Amon & volunteers from the shelter brought an array of adoptable pets to the Inverness Post Office to promote this campaign. Also present were representatives from our Citrus County Animal Non-Profit Rescues - the Humanitarians of Florida and Adopt a Rescued Pet. There are many wonderful pets available for adoption within these county organizations!
